Transportation planners are considering adding a couple of roundabouts for intersections in the town of Dickinson.

Intersection improvements and a Front Street bridge replacement project will be discussed during a public information meeting.

Representatives of the New York State Department of Transportation will discuss plans to replace the existing bridge over Interstate 81.

The project also will involve work at the intersection of Front and Old Front streets at the I-81 southbound ramps. Work also is planned at the intersection of Front Street and the highway's northbound exit ramps.

One option for the intersections would utilize roundabouts at both intersections. A second option would use traffic signals.

The project is scheduled to start during the 2021 construction season.

The information meeting about the proposed work is to be held Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Cornell Cooperative Extension building at 840 Front Street.
