The Water Department says it plans to start a new booster pump April 8 following a pump failure and replacement in the Hayes Avenue area.  Officials say the running of the new pump could cloud the water occasionally through the day and possibly into the following day depending on how the system responds.

There is no need to boil the water but taps should be run on cold until the water clears before using.

The Water Department says residents in the Hayes Avenue area are most likely to experience a little discoloration but some surrounding areas could also be affected due to how the water lines are linked.

Village residents can contact the water department for more information.
