July 4th is on Tuesday this year and many people are taking advantage of it by having a 5-day weekend. It's nice to be able to celebrate our Independence and it's supposed to be our most patriotic day but it feels like it's been under assault recently.

The country is more split than ever and it seems like people are interested in dividing us rather than coming together. It's hard for us to find common ground with each other and that's not good.

Who would have ever thought that there would be controversy over saying the "Pledge of Allegiance" and having the flag in every schoolroom? Some states are doing it and people are protesting it.

Pride In America

Pride in our country is at a new low...again. We've gone through a lot in the last few years and it's getting harder to freely express ourselves. CAN YOU SAY "Cancel Culture?"  I try to remind my friends that the LOUDEST voices aren't necessarily the correct voices.

I've encouraged them to stop watching the national news all the time. I've said it before and I'll say it again...again. Check the news quickly and get out. The media tries to engage us and all we are getting is a headache.

I still love the United States of America, even with all of its faults. It's still the greatest country on earth and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. So for this July 4th take the time to enjoy the freedom that we have, even if we don't have as much as we used to.

We are still free to let our voices be heard. As we celebrate here are ten perfect treats to enjoy and help get your pride on.
