Power Restoration Slowly Progresses in Twin Tiers
Progress continues to be made in restoring power to tens of thousands of New York State Electric and Gas customers who have been without service since the April 19 snowstorm hit the Southern Tier.
Restoration efforts are also continuing in Northeast Pennsylvania with some residents advised they may be without service into the weekend.

As of 8 a.m. April 21, NYSEG reports over 15,222 just in Broome County without power with thousands of others in Tioga, Chenango, Cortland and Delaware County still with no electricity.
The utility website lists estimated restoration times for many 10 or 11 p.m. April 21 and as late as 11 p.m. April 22 for some.
Regular updates down to streets can be found at NYSEG.com. Click on “Report and Outage” on the home page then select “view outage listing”, not maps to see a listing of counties affected by disruptions. Once you select a county, you can specify a municipality and see individual streets and their expected restoration time.
The utility updates the listing frequently but some service could actually be restored or new interruptions may occur and not be accurately depicted in the listing.
This morning, City of Binghamton Police said many of the streets on the West Side that NYSEG had noted expected restoration at 5 this evening actually already had lights back on.
