State Police in Oneonta December 20 received a report of packages being stolen from porches on the West End.

A doorbell camera helped lead to the arrest of 38-year-old Andrew Van Dusen of Gilbertsville.  Troopers say the recovered all the pilfered packages in a snowbank on the West Street Extension.

Authorities say one package had its contents damaged but other packages recovered hadn’t even been reported missing yet.  The items were returned to their rightful owners.

Van Dusen is also being given a bit of a Christmas gift.  He was released and isn’t to appear in Town of Oneonta Court to answer to six counts of petit larceny and one count of misdemeanor criminal mischief until January 2.
