I love Christmastime. I love cooking up all sorts of delicious foods and shopping and decorating and snuggling with a cup of hot chocolate by the fire. But most of all, I love outdoor festivals- especially ones with lots of sparkling lights.

My family and I look forward to seeing Owego come to life with sparkling lights every December, and this year won't be any different as downtown plays host to the annual ‘Lights on the River’ festival on Friday, December 2nd.

The festivities will kick off at 4pm with activities for everyone in the family including musicians, carolers, ice carvers, a visit from Santa himself, life reindeer, and so much more! The night will end with a spectacular fireworks show over the glistening river at 8pm.

Come hungry because during ‘Lights on the River,’most all village of Owego businesses and restaurants will be open for business. There will also be holiday foods sold by non-profit organizations, as well as hot chocolate, hot cider, soup and more.
