A Town of Dickinson residence sustained structural damage when a vehicle suddenly surged forward in the driveway and crashed into the house.

The incident at 132 Iris Drive in Sunrise Terrace happened around 12:15 p.m. Monday.

The man driving the car and two 5-year-old twin boys in the vehicle escaped injury. The driver complained of a sore hand.

The blue BMW 328i sedan smashed into a wall on the right side of the garage entrance causing damage to the living room of the house. No one in the house was hurt.

Broome sheriff's deputies were assisted by New York State Police and the Chenango Fire Company at the scene.

The Town of Dickinson code enforcement officer was notified of the crash and was expected to determine whether the house could safely be occupied.
