Kenny Mulligan and Family/Northpointe

October is Pastor Appreciation month.  If you have or know one then do something to show your appreciation.  If you haven't been going then just showing up might be enough.  I've found a way to show my appreciation and golf too.

As some may know, I go to Northpointe in Hillcrest. I've been going there for almost a year. So to show my appreciation to Kenny Mulligan, I've asked him to join me for the Binghamton Senators Golf Classic to benefit Wendy's Walk for Kids on Tuesday at Traditions at the Glen. There are many advantages to this.

First of all, I can say I'm doing this for the kids.  It's a wonderful benefit.  Second, I get to golf along with the Binghamton Senators.  Nothing beats combining golf and hockey especially for a good cause. It also may be one of the last times to golf this year.

Most important, I get to take someone I respect golfing and show my appreciation.  Besides with Kenny around, I won't toss my clubs or do the "Ride the Pony Dance."  Once again this is a Glenn Pitcher golf dance not the dance from the 90's. I see nothing wrong with the dance but for some reason when I mention it, it freaks Traci out.

Taking the pastor golfing makes me think of the Caddyshack movie and the scene with Bill Murray.  Carl: I'd keep playing. I don't think the heavy stuff's gonna come down for quite awhile.  Bishop: You're right. Anyway, the Good Lord would never disrupt the best game of my life...  We know how the scene ended.

Also it'll give me a chance to share some golf knowledge with him.  I can tell him that if it starts to lightning, just hold a 1 iron over his head.  Because not even God can hit a 1 iron.  This may be the last time he goes with me.

So I hope you will join us tomorrow (Hawktober 8th.) Last I knew there were some openings, you can check here to find out.  See you on the course and hope to see you on Sunday.  Once again, that is what the pastor really would appreciate.
