Union Woman Makes Own New York State Inspection Sticker, Gets Arrested

Friday, July 6 was a very bad day for one Broome County woman after she was arrested by New York State troopers on some serious charges, including trying to pull a fast one on authorities.

According to New York State Police, troopers spotted a vehicle owned by 44-year-old Reghan L. Parker of Union breaking vehicle and traffic rules and attempted to pull it over on Country Club Road, near Hooper Road. Parker's vehicle was eventually stopped on Lowell Drive and that is where things began to unravel for Parker.

Although Parker was sitting in the passenger's seat, New York State troopers say that it discovered that not only was Parker the owner of the vehicle but that the person operating her vehicle did not have a valid driver’s license.

According to New York State Police, further investigation revealed that Parker had suspected methamphetamine in her possession. Additionally, troopers noticed that there was a homemade piece of paper on the front windshield of Parker’s vehicle.

Upon closer inspection, troopers discovered that the paper on the front windshield was a poor attempt at a homemade New York State inspection sticker.

New York State Police say that Parker ended up being charged with possession of a forged instrument and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.

Troopers arrested Parker at the scene and took her to State Police Endwell before she was issued appearance tickets to Broome County Centralized Arraignment and Processing.

It was indeed a very bad day for Parker.
