NYS Ranks High Among States With Residents Who Need a Lawyer
What's happening New Yorkers? What are we doing that puts us high up on a list of states where residents most need a lawyer? I could guess but I'd rather not.
According to a study conducted by lawyers who took a look at Google search terms for different law-related terms, New York is one of the states where people need a lawyer the most. That's not good...unless you are a lawyer.
States That Need a Lawyer The Most
The top spot goes to Colorado, but the Empire State isn't far behind. The study looked into what states had the highest average monthly search for lawyers per 100,000 people.
In the last 12 months, Colorado had the most searches (534) for different types of lawyers including immigration and employment. North Carolina was second with over 460 searches, and they were mostly interested in bankruptcy lawyers. Georgia took the bronze with 405 searches per 100,000 people.
Now, let's talk about New York. They ranked fourth on the list with just under 400 searches (396) per 100,000 people. It turns out, the people of New York were mostly interested in finding information on immigration lawyers. With today's climate, that doesn't really surprise me.
States That Need a Lawyer The Least
So what state isn't looking for lawyers? Montana takes the cake (or Rocky Mountain Oysters) for the least interest with less than 200 searches per 100,000 people. It's funny because people from Montana seem to be curious about family lawyers...Just like the people in Colorado. Montana is followed by Alaska, Idaho and South Dakota.
So, there you have it. New York isn't the top state where lawyers are needed the most, but it's definitely up there! Although they could move up, if the border crisis continues.
