A Look at New York’s Preference for Smart Home Technology

When it comes to smart home technology, we are in, especially for our entertainment wants and needs. Recent data has shown us that  with the vast array of smart devices out there, 'smart TVs' top the list as the most sought-after item in the Empire State.

'Smart watches' take the spotlight around the nation as the most popular smart home technology. The 'watch' has over 133,000 searches a month across the US, we New Yorkers  have a different preference.

According to the findings, the Empire State is third on the list of states that are the most obsessed with smart home tech, with 'smart TV' taking the lead with 10,150 monthly searches.

The tech-savvy residents in New York are all about improving their TV viewing with the latest smart TV features. That doesn't mean that we aren't interested in other gadgets. 'Smart watches' come in a close second with 8,483 monthly searches, followed by 'smart locks' with 2,483 searches every month.

As technology continues to improve every day, it really is no surprise that smart home revenue in the US have seen a rapid rise of 132% increase between 2017 and 2023. Whether it is smart light bulbs, speakers, video doorbells, just to name a few, New Yorkers want to stay up to date with the latest tech trends.

Whether it is for convenience (not getting off the couch) or as a line of defense (ignoring the person at the door or porch pirates), smart technology is here to stay.
