New Yorkers Rank as Least Friendly in the United States
Have you ever heard people gripe about New York State? It doesn't have the best reputation especially when you include New York City. Are you looking to validate your feelings for the Empire State? Maybe you just want to prove the naysayers wrong.
BetMGM was wondering the same thing, not just about New Yorkers but about every state in the USA. They wanted to find out what people thought about the state that they live in.
So they surveyed over 2,200 people from 44 states to find out the people's ratings on different aspects of their respective state and included overall people, coworkers and friends.
When it comes to the perceived quality of social interactions and relationships within the Empire State, we didn't fare very well. One notable finding is that New York got the lowest ratings in several people-related categories, that’s not good!
When it came to overall people, New Yorkers rated each other at a 5.7 out of 10, which was the lowest rating among all states! Similarly, coworkers in the Empire State were also rated poorly, earning a score of 6.5, the lowest in this category. That's not good news but does it surprise you?
In terms of friendships, New York got a rating of 7.8, coming in as the fourth lowest in the ranking. That's better but not by much. There is many things to like about New York and we need to do a better job of changing people's perspective of this great state.
