There are more options than ever before, with 1,850 listings available. That's up from the 1,363 we had last year. So if you're looking for a cozy cabin or a luscious lakeside estate, New York has got you covered.

The top dog in the home market is Lake Champlain and it's the biggest player in the land market too. But if you're after the most expensive homes, you'll want to head to Lake Placid. Those places have an average price tag of $2,632,738.

So who is on the hunt for these lakeside properties ? It turns out that over half (53%) of lake home searchers are people between the ages of 45 and 64. It's a 50/50 split between the men and women that are searching for these places of peace.

Not surprisingly, it's not just New Yorkers who are interested in the Empire State lakes. We've got people from all over the country looking for these properties. The top cities that are looking for a lakefront getaway are Ashburn, VA, Philadelphia, PA, and Dallas, TX. We definitely have some out-of-towners taking to our gorgeous lakes.

If you're in the market for some waterfront fun, now is the time to strike. It's a booming market with plenty of options this summer. Act now while the getting is good.
