According to the study by storage unit comparison site Sparefoot.com, Hawaii took home the top spot with a whopping 13.2% of homeowners owning $1,000,000+ properties without a mortgage. California and Washington took the silver and bronze but the Empire State came in at a fantastic fourth place!

The report showed that 5% of New York homeowners are looking good in mortgage-free $1,000,000+ properties. Who would have guessed that out of a total of 4,221,669 homeowners, a staggering 211,504 New Yorkers have paid off their mortgages and are now proud owners of million-dollar properties! That's pretty amazing if you ask me.

It's always exciting to see our state making waves in these kinds of rankings, don't you think? And hey, if you're a New York homeowner dreaming of that mortgage-free, million-dollar lifestyle, maybe this news is just the motivation you needed!

Interesting to note, residents in Mississippi had the lowest percentage of mortgage-free homeowners with $1,000,000+ properties, coming in at a mere 0.4%. But hey, to each their own, right?

So, whether you're already living the dream or aspiring to reach that mortgage-free milestone, let's give a big shoutout to our fellow New Yorkers who've made it to the list! Cheers to making homeownership dreams a reality right here in the Big Apple!
