New York Ranked One Of America’s Most Exhausted States
A new study says people in New York may be feeling more burned out and drained than much of the country. Researchers ranked New York as the third most exhausted state overall in America based on online searches tied to fatigue, sleep problems, stress, and nutrition.
New Yorkers Are Searching About Burnout And Fatigue
The Exhaustion Index was created by wellness company Juice Plus+ using search trends connected to 100 different exhaustion related keywords. Researchers looked at searches involving phrases like “trouble sleeping,” “why can’t I focus,” “bad diet,” and “extreme tiredness.” They found New York repeatedly ranked near the top in several major exhaustion categories.
Mental Fatigue Was One Of New York’s Biggest Struggles
New York ranked third nationwide for mental fatigue signals. That included searches related to burnout, trouble concentrating, stress, and focus issues. The study suggested many New Yorkers may be dealing with exhaustion tied more to mental overload than physical strain.
Sleep Problems Also Ranked High
New York ranked fourth in the country for sleep related fatigue. The data pointed to ongoing struggles with rest, recovery, and quality sleep. Long work hours, busy schedules, screen time, and stress all play a role in sleep disruption.

Nutrition And Energy Crashes Were Also A Concern
The study ranked New York fifth nationwide for nutritional fatigue. They connected searches involving poor eating habits, low energy, and inconsistent nutrition. New York ranked lower for physical exhaustion, coming in tenth overall in that category. The report suggested New Yorkers may be feeling worn down more from stress, lack of sleep, and nonstop schedules than from physical labor alone.
