During my trip to New York City with some of our awesome listeners I took the time to walk around Times Square and soak in the tourist experience. I threw my headphones in put on the brand new Luke Bryan album. It was at that moment I remembered there was a brand new country music venue in the middle of Times Square!

It took a few minutes to find the Opry City Stage located right by the M&M’s store and across from the Charmin sampling station. Yes, you read that second thing right. I had briefly heard about this new venue the other day on Good Morning America. Luke Bryan had opened up this new spot for country music by performing new music of his new album.

The goal of the Opry City Stage is to bring a little honky tonk from the Grand Ole Opry up to New York City. I love this idea! It means country music is just getting bigger and bigger.

Luke Bryan also had a pop up shop located inside of the venue so I knew I had to check it out. I even stood next to a Luke cardboard standup. I was taller than him so I’m sure it wasn’t to scale.

I was not able to see the stage inside, but I tried my hardest to sweet talk the security guard! He did tell me you can go inside and sit at a table situated around the stage and enjoy dinner while major acts play. The plan is to have major acts, local artists, and Nashville singers and songwriters come and perform in the grandest city of them all!

I hope you enjoy some of the pictures I took, especially those amazing steel guitars. I can’t wait to get back and check out some live music.
