The first blaze was reported at 5:20 p.m. January 1 in Castle Creek where one person was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

It’s believed the fire started in the front of the home and the structure sustained moderate damage.

The second fire was at a vacant house in Lisle.  That blaze was reported at 10:55 p.m.  There were no injuries.

Authorities say work at that fire scene closed a portion of Route 11 in both directions for a time.

Firefighters from a half dozen departments responded.
