The contract for the naming rights on the Veteran’s Memorial Arena is to expire June 30, a county spokesperson tells WNBF.

In March of 2014, Broome County announced a naming rights deal with the food distribution company to honor the family’s patriarch, Floyd L. Maines.

At the time, the County said Maines agreed to pay $75,000 a year under a five year agreement with five-year renewals for up to 15 years.

Broome County had sought a minimum $50,000 for the naming rights for the Arena when it announced the plans in October of 2013.

There are indications the County may be taking proposals from new entities interested in naming rights to the Arena.
