The quaint town of Little Meadows is gearing up for excitement as a grant allowed for them to break ground last year on a new firehouse after being stationed in the same building for almost 60 years and the day has come to unveil that firehouse to the community.

I never realized how accessible our local firehouses are until I married into a family of firefighters who thought I was strange to ask if the public was allowed to visit. "Of course!" they told me. Being able to tour a firehouse is exciting, but even more so when it's a brand new one. Also exciting is having the opportunity to take get to know the volunteers who bravely fight for our safety as well as to see the apparatus they use.

The Little Meadows Volunteer Fire Company and Rescue Squad will show off their new firehouse in a grand opening celebration on be having the Grand Opening for the new station on Sunday, May 1st.

The grand opening will begin at 2pm with a parade from the state line on Pennsylvania Avenue to the Pennsylvania Avenue entrance to the firehouse.

Immediately after the parade, stick around for hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and beverages at the new station.

You'll also have the chance to visit the new firehouse, something the kids in particular, are sure to love! There will also be a helicopter landing, flag ceremony, Talisman presentation, ribbon cutting and a few speakers.

This is a big moment for the Little Meadows community as they've waited a very long time for this day to come and they can't wait to celebrate it with you and your family!
