A Broome County-based business is preparing to open an entertainment facility at the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City.

Xcite Wrestling has announced plans for a 6,000-square-foot venue in a partnership with the mall.

In a news release issued Sunday, company owner Jonathan Musok said an all-purpose exhibition hall is to be established in the south corridor of the mall.

The facility is planned for space that had been occupied by the Rue 21 apparel store that closed last April.

Renovation work is to start next month and the entertainment venue to be known as "The X" is scheduled to open in November.

According to Musok, starting November 2, the company plans to bring monthly wrestling events to the facility.

It also is to serve as home to a training center to train people interested in becoming professional wrestlers.

Musok said the venue also will host comedy nights, live concerts and other entertainment events.
