With all the negativity that seems to be surrounding us, isn't it nice to know that there are people and organizations that care and want to help others? Have you heard of "GetThere?" If not, here is what they offer.

As you know there are many COVID-19 vaccination sites throughout Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Otsego, and Tioga counties. However, the problem for some is getting a ride to the vaccination location.

This is where "GetThere" comes in because they are ready, willing, and (most importantly) able to help you. The group is a part of the Rural Health Network and if you, a loved one, or someone you know needs a ride, they are here.

You can contact their Call Center at (855)373-4040 Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. They even have a Mobility and Transportation Advocate that will help schedule a safe and secure ride. You don't even need a referral.

Here is another way that they can help you. If you are employed or looking to get employment but don't have a way to get to work. The Transportation to Employment Program can help you if you can't afford the initial cost of transportation.

They will also help you with a sustainable transportation strategy so that you can afford the cost of your own transportation after building up your paycheck. If this is you or someone you know, then contact the program coordinator, Katie Blaine at (607) 662-3005 to find out more.
