After a slow start, it appears summer has finally arrived in the Southern Tier.  Hot days and cool nights lend itself to some great outside time.  With that in mind, there are a number of concerts planned at area parks that are either free or very affordable.

Here are a few concerts in the park that caught my eyes and ears:

Tuesday 6:30pm - 8:30pm - Otsiningo Park in Binghamton welcomes Katie Scott with Persuasion.

Tuesday 7pm - Rick Pedro and Jeff Lake at Highland Park on Hooper Road in Endwell.

Tuesday 7pm - Miles Ahead at the Town of Vestal Gazebo on the corner of Front and Main Street in Vestal.

Wednesday 1-3pm - Wednesdays in the Park is more than just music at Fairview Park, Robinson Street and Fairview Avenue in Binghamton.  Kids are invited to come out to enjoy games, snacks, arts and crafts and music.

Thursday 7pm - Outer Reef will play at Hider Park in the Town of Chenango.  The park is located at the top of South Morningside Drive at 1529 NYS Route 12 in Binghamton.

Thursday 7pm - Community Band Concert at Arnold Park, Shelter 3 on Andrews Road in Vestal.

Friday 6:30pm - Windsor Band featuring the Parlor City Flute Ensemble  will play at Main and Chapel Street in Windsor.

Friday 7pm- Bainbridge Old Time Band Concert will play the Bainbridge Village Park on the green in Bainbridge.

Friday 7pm- Pat Kane and West O'Clare will play Depot Friday Nights this Friday at the Newark Valley Railroad Depot on Depot Street in Newark Valley.

Don't forget to throw in a few lawn chairs and blankets in the car.
