Some well-known names could soon be in Broome County as production gets started on a movie project.

Adam Weitsman, who owns the former Davis College campus in Johnson City, said the site will be used for the shooting of scenes for a "big-budget motion picture."

Weitsman said the people involved in the project visited the site off Riverside Drive this month.

Speaking on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program Tuesday, Weitsman said Matthew Modine and a couple of other very prominent actors will be part of the production. He mentioned John Travolta and Dustin Hoffman possibly being involved.

Weitsman said Modine - who will be the director - expects to film "a third of the movie here." He said the gym on the campus is to be used to shoot some indoor scenes.

Weitsman said he expects a formal announcement of the production will be made soon.
