Authorities accused 27-year-old Dylin Abbatoy of leaving the scene of the 7:56 a.m. crash in which motorcyclist, 42-year-old Carl Hoaglin Junior, was killed.  He’s also charged with moving from a lane unsafely and failure to keep right.

Investigators say after arriving on the scene, they determined that another motorist had been involved in the accident and had left before law enforcement got there.

Close to two-and-a-half weeks later, sheriff’s officials say they determined Abbatoy was driving east in the westbound lane of East Berkshire Road while Hoaglin was traveling west, causing Hoaglin to lose control of the motorcycle. Authorities allege Abbatoy left the scene and failed to report his involvement in the incident to law enforcement.

Abbatoy has been ordered to appear in Berkshire Town Court next month.
