When I was a kid, my grandparents lived in a town called Niskayuna, which is located just outside of Albany and on one of the town's street corners sits a beautiful cream and green colored house, carefully tucked behind tall trees and an ornate security gate.

While I was growing up, the home belonged to actress Maureen O'Sullivan (Jane in Tarzan) and every time we would drive by, I would find myself wondering what it looked like inside.

I don't know if it's because I grew up driving by the home of an actress who had such an impact on the film world in and around the 1940s or because I've got an old soul, but I've always wished to be able to go back to simpler days. The world wasn't without turmoil, the 1940s saw rationing and World War II, but in so many ways it was much less hectic than it is today.

No cell phones, no internet, no constant television. Can you imagine?

Well, a guy in England has decided that he wants this type of simple life and he’s going to live it no matter what people think. His name is Ben Sansum and he’s not just giving up social media and trips to coffee shops. Ben is actually living his life every day like it’s 1946.

Ben has decorated his house to look exactly as it would have in the 1940s and he also dresses in the style of the 1940s.

Ben works for British Airways and says that when he goes to work he has to put on “normal” clothes but as soon as he gets home, he goes back to life in the 1940s.

Do you think you could do what Ben has done? Would you want to?
