This Belongs On Every Meatball Sub
As some of you may know, I am cooking most of my own food these days but that is a story for another day. My specialty is cold cereal, Ramen noodles, and take-out. I'm trying to expand my horizon and it's going okay.
I've been searching around and I found this article. It's about things that you've stumbled upon that you do all the time now. I wrote them about my creation but haven't heard back yet so I'll share it with you.
My "creation" is a meatball with mayonnaise and lettuce sub. Back in the day, I would work at a deli during the lunch rush. When it was over, as part of the deal, I could have a meal before I left for the day.
There was one catch: If I made a mistake when I was making a sandwich, then that was my lunch. It was a very busy Friday lunch rush and everyone was ordering subs with mayo and lettuce.
It got to the point where I would put the mayo and lettuce on while I was taking their order. I wasn't listening close enough when the gentleman said he wanted a meatball sub...I know, shocker. Before I realized it, the meatballs, mayo, and lettuce were joined as one.
That became my lunch for the day. and I LOVED it and still get it that way now. One time, I ordered my meatball with lettuce and mayo sub and the deli REFUSED to let me have it my way, obviously, it wasn't Burger King.
That business isn't around any longer and I'm guessing that I wasn't the first or last time they treated someone poorly. Another bonus is that I NEVER have to worry about anyone stealing my sandwich, at least not twice.
So if you have any "creation" suggestions for me, I'm more than willing to listen and give it a try. By the way, if you're looking for some ideas, you can always go here.
