A few years ago, I visited the Lizzie Borden house in Fall River, MA. The story about what happened in this house is famous.

Lizzie Borden took an axe and gave her mother forty whacks...
When she saw what she had done, she gave her father forty-one.

She was tried for and acquitted of the murders in 1892 -- either because she didn't commit them or because she was really good at covering up the fact that she had.

You can actually stay inside the house overnight and even sleep in the room where Lizzie's mother was murdered. Reservations fill up quickly! With Halloween coming up next month, I would definitely suggest trying to find a night to stay there, or at the very least take a tour of the house. You can make your reservations or learn more about the house on their website.

You even have the opportunity to go see where Lizzie and her family were buried at Oat Grove Cemetery in Fall River. Your tour guide can give you the directions on how to get there.

Fall River is just outside of Boston, so you could make it a long weekend with your family or friends if you decide.
