Laundry Detergent Poses Infection Risk for New York Residents
A recall has been issued for laundry detergent due to potential bacterial contamination, posing a serious risk to residents of New York who have weakened immune systems or use medical devices.
When you wash your clothes, cleanliness is key. However, one laundry detergent has not only failed to get clothes clean, but it could even contain harmful Pseudomonas bacteria.
Residents across New York are warned to take immediate action if they have purchased this product.
Which Laundry Detergent is Affected?
The 50-ounce Woolite Delicates Detergent, sold exclusively at Amazon.com in January 2025, is being recalled due to potentially being contaminated with harmful bacteria.
Why is This Detergent a Concern?
If you have a weakened immune system or rely on medical devices, it is important to exercise extreme caution. Exposure to the bacteria in this recalled detergent could lead to infections in different parts of your body.
How to Identify the Recalled Products?
Check your 50-ounce Woolite detergent bottle for lot numbers S24364, S24365, or S24366, along with SKU code 62338-72724. If these match, stop using it right away and reach out to Reckitt at 800-228-4722 or by emailing ConsumerCare_USA@reckitt.com.

What to Do for Refund and Safe Disposal?
Label the recalled Woolite bottle as "Recalled," snap a photo of the UPC and lot code, and send the information to Reckitt for a refund. After you get the refund from Reckitt, tightly seal and dispose of the detergent properly without attempting to use it or recycle it. Contact Reckitt immediately with any concerns or to report any illness.
