Broome County police agencies are searching for a suspect in connection with a reported armed robbery at a convenience store in the town of Union.

The incident at the Speedway store at 1015 Union Center Maine Highway was reported around 2:45 a.m. Friday.

Initial reports from the scene indicated the a man armed with a knife left the store with some cash and cigarettes.

A store clerk was shaken but unhurt after the heist.

Police were looking for the suspect who was said to have been wearing dark clothing, including a hoodie.

Broome County sheriff's deputies and New York State Police troopers were on the scene.

A Johnson City police K-9 unit was called to try to track the suspect, who was last seen on foot. He reportedly was heading south toward Endicott.
