Binghamton Family Unexpectedly Runs Into Big Singer While Camping

A lot of people wonder what it would be like to run into their favorite musician in a casual setting. Are famous people down-to-earth, humble, and approachable? One Binghamton family found out the answer when they had a chance encounter with one of their favorite musicians while camping this weekend.

Eric Lotz and his family were camping at the Watkins Glen KOA last weekend and got the shock of their lives when they realized that the person playing basketball right behind their site was none other than country superstar Justin Moore.

Lotz says that Justin Moore was on his way to perform at the Great New York State Fair when he stopped to rest at the Watkins Glen KOA. Lotz said that Moore was down to earth and "one heck of a basketball player!"

Lotz continued, "He's just like any of us. He's a family man, he likes to do normal everyday things. He is very friendly and takes the time to show it. We were hesitant about if it was him or not, but once we asked, he said "yes, sir," and came right over and shook our hands. He came down and took pictures with all of us after his basketball game. Plus, my 9 and 7-year-old girls love his music and sing it constantly."

Moore is part of an impressive concert lineup at the Great New York State Fair as the fair launches its final week. Moore will take the stage tonight, Monday, August 30, at 8:00 p.m., and his show is included in the price of Fair admission.

Admission to the Great New York State Fair is $3.00 per person ages 13 to 64. Persons 12 and younger are admitted to the Fair free of charge as are persons who are 65-years-old and older.

The Great New York State Fair has moved to a cashless ticket and parking system for 2021 which means that if you want to go you'll need to purchase both your admission tickets and your parking passes in advance. Both can be bought online here.

If you are unable to purchase tickets online, you may purchase them by calling 1-800-514-3849 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday.

The Great New York State Fair will conclude on Labor Day, Monday, September 6.
