Jimmie Allen knows "dreams come true" after he got the chance to perform with one of his favorite artists, Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty. Allen sang "Unwell" with the "greatest of all time" at Thomas' Nashville tour stop in early July.

"But I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell / I know right now you can't tell / But stay a while and maybe then you'll see / A different side of me / I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired / I know right now you don't care / But soon enough you're gonna think of me / And how I used to be," the pair sang in the chorus. The crowd went wild at the surprise collaboration.

"Tonight my life was made. I got to sing on stage with my musical hero @ThisIsRobThomas," Allen wrote on Twitter. "His band @MatchboxTwenty is the reason I started singing. Thank You Matchbox for making great music, thank you for inspiring sooooo many musicians, writers and artists. I'mma gonna go cry now."

Taste of Country RISER Allen has long been vocal about his love for Thomas and Matchbox Twenty; in fact, he covered "Unwell" in the ToC studio earlier this year.

Thomas and Allen previously exchanged tweets in 2018, when Allen covered MB20's "Ever the Same." Thomas commented on the tweet, "That’s f--king dope!!!!" and retweeted the video, adding, "Hate it when someone does my song better than me."

Thomas recorded his full Nashville Chip Tooth Tour stop, with the recording now available for purchase. The trek features country up-and-comer Abby Anderson as Thomas' opening act.
