Hollywood Star Jennifer Garner Surprises Upstate New Yorkers
Actress Jennifer Garner made an appearance at a Wegmans store in Canandaigua last week and left a lasting impression on all she came in contact with.
The "13 Going on 30" and "Daredevil" actress, also known for her roles in "Alias," "Juno," and "Dallas Buyers Club," shouted out "Go Bills!" to a nearby shopper at the Wegmans store who was sporting Bills attire.
The shopper recognized the actress who was kind enough to pose for a selfie with him. The shopper and his wife, Mary O'Connor Wiser, both lifelong Bills fans, were surprised and ecstatic at the unexpected sighting while simply out doing their grocery shopping.
Garner was reportedly in town for a luncheon with the grocery store's staff and her team from Once Upon a Farm, the organic baby food and children's snacks company she co-founded. An employee working the event described Garner as "funny, kind, and compassionate." Garner did not, however, participate in any public meet-and-greets at the store.
Garner's visit quickly became the talk of the town. News of her selfie with a fan spread rapidly on social media. According to Syracuse.com, another Wegmans employee posted on Facebook about working the special luncheon and her admiration for Garner's positive qualities.
Garner arrived at the Rochester airport on Wednesday and was spotted by a local resident and his granddaughter, whom she talked to briefly and even posed with for a photo. The resident, Ray Martino, told the Democrat & Chronicle, "You don't see too many celebrities in Rochester" and so he was quite surprised to spot her at the airport.
