A Binghamton couple have reported another Israeli flag posted at their West Side home has been vandalized.

The husband and wife told WNBF News they discovered someone had scrawled a swastika on the flag that was on a fence facing Riverside Drive. The flag was displayed on the private fence just west of Guthrie Lourdes Hospital and the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Binghamton.

Other Israeli flags and an American flag also posted on the fence were not targeted.

Last month, a vandal used red spray paint to deface multiple Israeli flags on the same fence. A message referencing Gazan war casualties also was written on the fence.

Police linked the October graffiti case to a rash of similar vandalism incidents that occurred downtown and at Binghamton High School. Investigators released a video image showing a possible suspect riding a blue bicycle. No arrests have been made in connection with those incidents.

The woman who lives at the home where the Israeli flags have been defaced said: "It is a sad day in America and in our town to see people who have no respect for each other."

Binghamton police are investigating the latest incident. People with information may contact the detective bureau at (607) 772-7080.
