The Binghamton City School District is holding a recruitment fair this week in the hopes of hiring staff for several jobs including substitute teachers, food service workers, bus drivers and clerical staff.

The event will be held at the Columbus School Community Room on Friday, August 5 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Participants are asked to bring a copy of their COVID-19 vaccination card, if applicable, a driver license and social security or passport.

According to literature concerning the BCSD Recruitment Fair, attendees will be able to interview Friday, August 5 with the school district recruitment team and discuss employment opportunities.

In addition to substitute teachers, the district is looking for teaching assistants, Aides and monitors.

The Columbus School is located at 164 Hawley Street in Binghamton. The Columbus School Community Room is located on the third floor of the school building.

School districts all across the region and elsewhere have been struggling even prior to the pandemic with attracting and maintaining staff with many teaching jobs open and almost constant ads looking for school bus drivers.  COVID-19 further complicated matters and many districts were turning to retired educators and new graduates in an attempt to fill available positions.
