We live in a community that is very generous when it comes to helping others. It could be a benefit for those in need, to help with medical bills, and support the many area charities in the Southern Tier of New York.

One of those events is the Sock Out Cancer® benefit concert that aids financially distressed families so they can put all their energy into fighting cancer.  The Security Mutual Life Foundation which owns the non-profit Sock Out Cancer®, lists on the Sock Out Cancer® website, several Upstate New York benefit concerts, one of which will be held on Friday, October 21st at The Broome County Forum Theatre.

This benefit concert will benefit financially distressed cancer patients of Upstate Foundation, Golisano Children’s Hospital; Lourdes Hospital, and UHS Hospital. This year's concert is Classic Rock Voices, featuring Fran Cosmo, the former lead vocalist for Boston, along with Steve Augeri, the former lead vocalist for Journey.

This will be an exciting concert to attend as both Cosmo and Augeri will be performing the songs you love to sing along and dance to. Fran Cosmo was the lead vocalist on the Boston album, 'Walk On' which was released in 1994, and was on tour with Boston through 2004.

Steve Augeri was the lead singer for Journey from 1998 to 2006, appearing on four albums. He also spent some time teaching music at the French Woods Festival for the Performing Arts Summer Camp, located just outside of Hancock, NY.

Visit the Sock Out Cancer® website for more information about the upcoming concert and all the good things the organization does.
