It's Back! The Broome County Parks Department has announced the 8th annual Scarecrow Contest and Display. Last year's entries were truly amazing, and I'm sure this year will be just as good...or better? We'll soon find out.
As has been in the past, the Scarecrow Contest and Display will be at Otsiningo Park in Binghamton. The Broome County Parks Department is inviting businesses, families, individuals, groups, organizations and clubs to enter.
Entry forms need to be summitted no later than September 25th, and will be on display from October 2nd through October 23rd. The contest is free, with entries needed to be set up between September 29th and October 1st.
According to the Broome County Parks Department, winning entries will be determined by votes placed at the park-by-park visitors between October 2nd through October 23rd. Winning entries will be announced on Friday, October 27th.
Participants will be assigned a spot and provided a 5-ft post but must supply their own means to secure the scarecrow to the post. Total display size must not exceed 6 feet high and 8 feet wide. Entries must be weather-resistant; the use of perishable items is not recommended. Participants are responsible for maintaining their entry throughout the contest duration. - Broome County Parks Department
