The warm weather months are here. And that means Broome and Tioga County outdoor events, activities and fun are ready to roll. Soon the public swimming pools will open for the season.

Some of the major events in our area include the July Fest and Jazz Festival in Downtown Binghamton July 7th through the 9th after the pandemic shut it down for a couple of years, the Spiedie Fest & Balloon Rally Expo has made their announcement for August 4th through the 6th.

The Broome County Parks has many events scheduled this summer, and the Dick's Sporting Goods Open returns June 19th through the 25th.

As for county fairs, the annual Broome County Fair will be July 25th through the 30th at the fairgrounds in Whitney Point. Featuring everything you love about the fair, including new attractions.

The Broome County Fair committee is working hard on finalizing plans and soon will have their website up with the the information for the 2023 edition of the fair.

And the Tioga County Agricultural Society has announced that the Tioga County Fair, in Owego is back for it's 164th edition. This year's fair will be held August 8th through the 12th in Marvin Park where the fair is held each year.

This year, fairgoers will get to enjoy a championship rodeo, professional riders performing in several categories, truck and tractor pulls, and the ever popular demo derby.

In addition, the  petting zoo and 4H Livestock exhibition return, plus rides on the midway. This year's newest event will be the ATV and Dirt Bike Rodeo. For more information, visit the Tioga County Fair website or on Facebook.
