Maybe when I retire (well, I'll never really leave the workforce as long as I can continue to work), I need to work in some capacity in real estate.

I love to look at homes and businesses that are for sale and check out what hidden gems each may possess. That's not weird, is it? Maybe it started when I became an owner of a travel trailer.

In the world of RVs, owners love to show off their new camper or RV. And maybe that's why I like to do the same with homes and businesses that are for sale.

I ran across this Binghamton home on the Westside listed by Briana Cardin-Rogers from Howard Hanna, on Zillow recently that was built in 1900, and it really caught my attention. I especially like the hardwood floors throughout the two-unit home.

It's actually a side-by-side twin duplex that the next owner could either live on one side and rent the other, or rent out both sides. A source of extra income to be sure. I also like that this home has a porch in the front and back of both units.

You may comment that most homes have a porch, and that's probably true, but my home does not, and I wish it did. So I guess I am envious of any home that has a porch!

Take a moment and view the photos of 180 West End Avenue in Binghamton. Most of the photos are taken from the side that is currently empty. The other side currently has a tenant (as of at the time of the listing.)

Zillow notes that this home features a "New Alpine steel roof, newer energy efficient forced hot air furnaces, hot water tanks, and brand new replacement windows.

As I have noted in past articles, it's just fun to look at, even if you are not in the market to buy a new home. Take a look, I  know you want to!
