I Lost My Vaccination Card, Now What?

Have you received your vaccination yet for Covid-19? Many of my co-workers, family and friends are currently doing so. Some have just gone in for their first shot, others have gone through both.

I was lucky enough to get the Johnson & Johnson Janssen shot which is a one and done vaccination. As I've mentioned before, it was an easy process and painless procedure. The only issue I had was feeling under the weather the next day, but fully recovered the day after.

Before I left, I was instructed to take care of my vaccination card. Keep it safe, keep it with me or make a copy and store the original in a safe place at home after you've completed your vaccinations. Take a picture of the front and back with your phone. Obviously if you have only had one shot and you are going back for the second, keep the original with you to present wherever you get your shot from.

So, if you are like me, you may tend to lose things from time to time, and what if that happens to your Covid vaccination card between shots or after the fact? According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), contact your vaccination provider or your state health department's immunization information system.

And the CDC has guidance on what you can do after you have been fully vaccinated gone through the waiting period, including gathering indoors with fully vaccinated people without wearing a face mask or by continuing with social distancing, remaining 6 feet apart.

The first thing I did after my two week waiting period, was go to a local restaurant and having a sit down meal instead of take-out. It was so great to back in a restaurant. Life is slowly getting back to normal, and I'm thankful for that.
