Little information is available other than the wrong-way vehicle was reported at around 6 p.m. in the area of Route 201 in Johnson City where it fled authorities at a high rate of speed.  The chase was called off for safety concerns after the car turned around on the highway, exited and hit another vehicle.  The suspect vehicle was seen again in the Vestal area before traveling west and crashing at Front and Williams Streets in Owego.

Troopers apparently struggled with the woman who had been driving the vehicle before she was subdued.

The driver’s name has not been released and the investigation is continuing.
