Announcing the 2016 Visions Country Hitmaker Challenge

The Visions Country Hitmaker Challenge is back for its third year looking for the best undiscovered singing talent in the Binghamton area! Warm up those vocal chords and submit your audio clip for your chance to win.

Submissions are open until Friday, April 22 at 12 p.m. EST (noon). Then your favorite Hawk DJs will randomly select ten contestants to move onto the next round where we'll ask you, our listeners, to vote on your favorite potential Hitmakers starting Monday, April 25 at 12:00 p.m. EST (noon) until Friday, May 6 at 12:00 p.m. EST (noon).

The top five contestants with the most votes will be invited to visit us at the Hawk studio for a video interview with Rich Birdsall! While we have them here, we will also record a video of them singing. Hawk listeners will get to vote on their favorite contestant in the final five starting Monday, May 30 at 8:00 a.m. EST until Friday, June 10 at 12:00 p.m. EST (noon).

The top three contestants with the most votes will join us on Wednesday, June 15 at Tioga Downs Casino for the final round. A panel of judges will score the final three contestants based on their live performances and one lucky person (or duo) will be crowned our 2016 Visions Country Hitmaker! The grand prize winner will get to sing the National Anthem at the 2016 Toyota Country Lights Festival on Friday, July 22 at NYSEG Stadium.

Think you have what it takes to be crowned the 2016 Visions Country Hitmaker? Use the form below to submit a 30-second clip of you singing any song you want acapella and a headshot of yourself (royalty-free and non-watermarked, please). If you would like to play guitar or have someone play guitar while you sing, that's okay, but please no pre-recorded music. Before submitting your entry, please make sure you read the contest rules:

1. We will only accept entries from solo or duo artists
2. Previous Hitmaker winners are not eligible to enter
3. Only one submission per person will be allowed.
4. If you are using a professional photo of yourself, please make sure it is royalty-free, not watermarked, and that you can legally use it.
