Hancock Fire Officials Say Child Rescued from Jensen Ledges Will be OK

The Hancock Volunteer Fire Department is offering an update on the little boy pulled from Jensen Ledges following a fall August 24.

According to a post on the company’s Facebook page, the child has been released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery as he recovers at home downstate.

The 10-year-old was said to have suffered a life-threatening injury in the fall shortly after 3 p.m.

He had been airlifted to a pediatric trauma center after rescuers using ropes and harnesses got him out of base of the cliff.

The rescue, involving numerous agencies including forest rangers, fire departments, police and ambulance crews, took over an hour.

The boy was said to have been in the company of adults at the time of the incident.
