Greater Good Grocery in Binghamton To Hand Out Free Fresh Produce But for One Day Only
Greater Good Grocery is a nonprofit grocery store located in Binghamton and on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, they will be handing out free produce to the Broome County community.
Greater Good Grocery was founded as a community effort to provide access to fresh and healthy food on the Northside of Binghamton. Greater Good Grocery was opened in 2020, ending a twenty-four-year grocery store drought on the Northside.
Greater Good Grocery was founded as a way to offer community members access to healthy and fresh food and is able to keep its prices low because after operational costs are met any extra profit is given to the programs of the Broome County Council of Churches - programs such as Faith in Action, hospital and jail ministries, and CHOW. In other words, when you shop at Greater Good Grocery, your money is going back to help your fellow neighbors in Broome County.
Starting at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 23, Greater Good Grocery will be giving out prepackaged bags of fresh produce. Everyone and anyone are eligible and there are absolutely no income or other requirements to take advantage of the free produce offer.
Up to four bags of fresh produce will be given to each individual who visits Greater Good Grocery- while supplies last. The Greater Good Free Grocery free produce handout is only good while supplies last and once they're gone, they're gone.
Greater Good Grocery is located on the first floor of the Canal Plaza housing complex at 435 State Street in Binghamton.
