Fugitive from Vermont Murder May Have Traveled Through Southern Tier
U.S. Marshal Service officials say a man wanted for the murder of a woman in Vermont in May could possibly have traveled through part of New York State.
Officials have not specifically said what portion of “upstate” New York, Leroy Headly may have traveled following the May 2018 shooting death of his girlfriend in the couple’s apartment in South Burlington.
The man is originally from Jamaica and has connections in that country, the U.S. and Canada.
He is black, of medium build and the last photos authorities had of him show him with short black hair and a beard but officials say he may have shaved his head or otherwise changed his appearance.
A $5,000 reward has been offered for information leading to Headly’s arrest.
He is considered armed and dangerous and anyone who sees him is advised not to approach the suspect but contact authorities immediately.
