‘Feed The Bus’ For CHOP In Memory Of 15-Year Old
CHOW does so much for our community in the Southern Tier of New York and we can't wait for our Food-A-Bago in November. There is so much need all around us including our friends from Pennsylvania.
There is a group called Child Hunger Outreach Partners (CHOP) in Bradford County, PA and they do the same type of thing as CHOW in our area. There is a group called "Feed the Bus for CHOP" that is looking to help their area in memory of a young man that left us way too soon.
Jaymz Maurice Alteri was only 15 years old when he lost his life and "Feed the Bus" is collecting non-perishable food items all month long in his memory. Alteri helped to deliver food to people that couldn't get out during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He had a passion for volunteering (I love that) and his family wanted to continue his work of serving others. So this is what is family and friends are going to do. All of September, they are encouraging you to bring your donations to the bus at Chandler's Antique & Artisan Market (the old Tops) parking lot on 448 North Keystone Avenue in Sayre.
They will be there from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day throughout September. If you can't make it during that time, they will also have collection bins at participating schools, businesses, and organizations all around Bradford County. You can see that list here.
We are halfway through September and the bus is halfway full too. It's a good start and with your help, they'll fill the bus by the time that September is through.
If you would like to drop off food at the bus but can't make it there, contact Bill Snyder III through FB Messenger or call him (507) 497-7398. Find out more about "Feed the Bus for CHOP" and the work that they are doing in their area, go here.
