Enjoy The Summer in New York State
There is still plenty of summer left and we go into the last weekend in July, New York State has many scenic areas that you can get to on a tank of gas.
Relaxing Parks, Beautiful Lakes and Scenic Trails to explore and several are within a few hours or less from home.
My wife and I have traveled to different locations around the state, some of our favorites places to go is Sylvan Beach just east of Syracuse, about 90 minutes from greater Binghamton,on the eastern shore of Oneida Lake it has some nice restaurants with music during the summer months, Verona State Park is right there too, so you can camp and enjoy the area and beautiful scenery, and you just a few minutes from Turning Stone Casino
Alexandria Bay in the Thousand Islands region is another beautiful place to visit, you can take a cruise on the Saint Lawrence river and tour the Boldt Castle. I would recommend getting a room for the night. It is about a 2 and a half hour drive.
The finger lakes region is another of the beautiful getaways that are within that two hour or less window, Cayuga, Seneca, Skaneateles are among the best of the region and there is also the Belhurst Castle and Watkins Glen State park
Ithaca area. You can enjoy the gorges and beautiful waterfalls in Robert H Treman Park in Ithaca, as well as Taughannock Falls State Park in Trumansburg.
Make some plans and take a trip or two before the summer is over.
I don’t mean to sound like a commercial but there are some of the reasons I Love New York.
