Earth Day is Friday, April 22nd.  The first Earth Day goes back to 1970 and a lot of good things have come out of this day of respect for our planet Earth.  For me, I try to respect the earth every day by going out of my way to recycle everything from paper, plastics and batteries.  When you get in the habit of doing what is right, it becomes second nature.

While Earth Fests are happening all over the country, Binghamton's Earth Fest seems to get bigger every year.  Earth Fest takes place Sunday, April 24th from 10am-4pm at the SUNY Broome Student Center in Binghamton.  The day brings together some live music with some great food and entertainment including magic shows, crafts, giveaways and some demonstrations. This year there will be a River Trails Bike Cruise organized by the Southern Tier Bike Club.

Again this year, they are partnering with the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park, the Discovery Center of the Southern Tier and Roberson Museum and Science Center.  Each of these places are offering a discount for Earth Day.  If you do go to one of these places this week, be sure to get a stamp and you'll enjoy free admission to Earth Fest on Sunday.

If you go, be on the lookout for the SUNY Ecology Club's Clothing Recycling Drop Off and Book Exchange.
