Delaware County Domestic Incident Flees Downstate/ Arrested on Return

Delaware County Sheriff’s officials say a man is accused of subjecting a person to unwanted physical contact, damaging the person’s phone and fleeing to Queens. 

40-year-old Willem Joosse of Queens and Stamford is accused of being involved in the dispute in the evening March 27 while a child was present and driving to the New York City area before returning to Delaware county.

He was arrested in Stamford March 30 and charged with felony criminal mischief, two lesser counts of criminal mischief for preventing the victim from making a call for emergency assistance, one count of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of harassment.

An order of protection was issued and Joosse has been ordered to appear in Town of Stamford Court at a later date.
