A case in Delaware County concerning the sexual abuse of a minor has led to a substantial prison sentence for an elderly Stamford resident.

Sentencing Includes Incarceration and Extended Supervision

Officials reported that 79-year-old Stanley Suchy was sentenced to ten years of imprisonment, followed by twenty years of supervised release. The sentencing occurred in county court on April 21.

Guilty Plea Entered Prior to Sentencing

Court records indicate that the defendant pleaded guilty to a felony charge in early April related to ongoing child abuse. The plea was entered approximately two weeks before the sentencing hearing.
