Major renovation work at facilities on the Binghamton University campus in Vestal has been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Construction is proceeding on several projects but progress has slowed because contractors have been utilizing fewer workers.

A 26,500-square-foot addition is being built at the Hinman Dining Hall and extensive renovations are underway at Cleveland Hall.

Work also is being done at the university's engineering building and at a science building.

There was a disruption in construction activity in the early stages of the COVID-19 response. Contractors on university projects must comply with emergency guidelines to protect the health of workers.

The completion dates for some campus projects are expected to be delayed.

Construction is continuing at a former Endicott Johnson factory on Corliss Avenue in Johnson City. The building is to become the home of the Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences next year.
